She stepped up her game when it came to singing and performance. She became the favorite to win and remained favorite for the rest of the competition, with great performance after great performance.

i love leona too, but when it comes down to it, most modern singers are doing some kind of mimicry. Charice is very young. with time and cultivation, she could be one of the greats as well.

Yeah well, I don't really care for Charice, She is miles overrated because she is young and can sing, I don't find her voice special. she's got way more soul in this song..
singing isn't about being perfect 100% of the time..
Fantasia sang with her soul while Leona sang this piece with emphasis of vocal technique which i personally found boring..
i guess it's really one's personal preference..

I think Leona has a beautiful voice. Her pitch and tone is on point. She is very skillfull and I love her album. However, Fantasia sang the hell out of this song. It wasn't just Fantasia's powerhouse voice it was her emotion. When she sang it I could feel it!

Yes i see what you mean! She does not sound really right for Jazz! Scarlett Johansson does sound more jazz! Have you heard Leona sing Run by Snow Patrol? I know it`s not jazz! But it`s beautiful and will be number one in singles charts tonight in UK i think!
