I think there's sense in your comment. People pay a great deal of respect to Mills, but I think they confuse his productions with his DJing. (Though, personally, I find his productions overrated as well.) This kind of quick mix stuff is a style unto itself, but I think that May does it a whole lot better. Still it's much better than most minimal laptop based stuff, which is about as fun as watching (or listening) to paint drying.

is it just me or he screws up several times? i know he's got a unique style but that doesn't mean he has to beatmix like shit! one tip people: listen to the mix without watching the video... sounds goddamn awful... the tracks are nice but the mixing suuuucks balls!! exhibitionist was better... wayyy better!!!

Lovin the whole Clarke/May/Mills debate... i'm fairly sure all three of them would find it ridiculous. Dave Clarke has said many times that Mills is one of his heroes, so has Derrick May, Mills has said similar things about both of them. All very different styles so not really comparable in terms of whose "better". It's a subjective experience after all. I've seen all three on teh same night more than once and they all blew me away!

when two records go great together and you want to keep that going and then need to introduce another song to the mix, while those two are going together you can cue up the next song. it only sounds messy at certain points, which to me is better than an absolutely perfect set.
