I really like The Stand miniseries, so I'm not sure I'd like to see it remade in some ways... but the book is possibly my favourite book ever, and is FAR superior to the tv version. Reading some of the comments here, it struck me that a trilogy of movies COULD be done (LOTR style, and the studio would have a 'big hit' for three or so years), although a TV series would give more time, movies would give the budget that would likely be needed.

No, the Crimson King isn't the opponent of The Turtle. IT, the eater of worlds, is. Still, Stephen King has a talent for describing villains....Randy Flagg is my favourite :D

indeed. I was dissapointed when i read this book because it all ended so fast. It just didn't fit in since it all went so slow until then, and I liked it like that. Suddenly it all ended, anlmost missed it so i had to read the page over again.
